The Pastor's Pen, March 9, 2010, Dr. Chester Wayne Harrison

Acts 1: 6—8…….6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of Jesus, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And Jesus said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

This passage of Scripture is very familiar to us. We recognize it as Jesus’ command to us, His children, to be witnesses of Him everywhere we go. Included in this command is our commission to take the Gospel “unto the uttermost part of the earth”. Yes, we are to be witnesses as we go about our daily life, but we are to go with the Gospel on mission for Jesus.

As you read this article I am busy trying to be obedient to this command of our Lord by taking the Gospel to Niger, West Africa. Please, pray for us as we teach these new church leaders the things of God. Pray that we will be safe, but effective, also, and pray that these church leaders and their families will be safe especially as they return to their villages.

REACHING NIGER is just one opportunity we have to be faithful in taking the Gospel “unto the uttermost part of the earth”. Each day we are confronted with challenges to share the Gospel, right where we are. May we each one be found faithful.

And, please, don’t forget to keep praying for our revival meeting March 28—31, and for our guest preacher, Ronnie Coleman who is pastor of First Baptist, Trenton. Brother Ronnie is a man of God, and an excellent preacher of the Word of God. You will enjoy his preaching, and you will also be encouraged by his preaching. Please, reserve these special dates…..March 28—31. And don’t forget our theme: JESUS LOVES YOU, CAMDEN. Invite all your friends and neighbors to join you as we celebrate Jesus together.

And, if you are looking for an opportunity to REACH OUT into our community for this revival effort, you can be a part of BOWL OF BLESSINGS, which is a ministry of offering a bowl of soup to the hungry of our community on Saturday, March 27, from 11:00—1:00. Here at F.B.C. we truly believe that Jesus wants us to REACH OUT, and we want to be found faithful doing just that…..REACHING UP TO      JESUS…..REACHING OUT TO THE WORLD!!! Keep it up. Glenda and I love you folks so much, and I look forward to seeing you Sunday with a Word from God. KEEP REACHING!!!

Always Reaching For Jesus,
