We are very proud of Bettye Summers for her work for the Lord. I’m sure all of you are familiar with Bettye. She always promotes our offerings for Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon. She heads up the WMU program here at First Baptist and now she has taken on the role of TN WMU President. We will honor Bettye this Sunday, March 25, during the Morning Worship service. After the service we will celebrate with a church-wide pot luck meal in the Family Life Center. Please bring plenty of food for you and our guests. All of us have seen how Bettye gives her all to the Work of the Lord in whatever area He calls her to serve and we are very proud of Bettye for stepping out in faith with this new undertaking. As a church join me as we pray for God’s guidance and strength as she goes about her new tasks as TN WMU President
We recognized Bettye on Sunday, March 25 at our church. Candy Phillips, Executive Director of TN WMU was here and said a few encourageing words to Bettye and after the Morning Worship we had a church wide pot luck lunch in her honor. Some pictures of that day are on this page.

Also, WMU had a "Sew Saturday". 18 women from our church met in the Parlor with our sewing machines, scissors, and ironing boards. We made 67 garments for Missionaries to take to Third world countries to help cloth the children there. You may view a slide show of pictures taken that day on the page "WMU Sew Saturday Slide Show".

Here are some mission projects we have going at this time . .
Mission Opportunity:
What a blessing it is to give!!! If you are a giver you know what I mean. If you have not experienced the joy of giving then this is your chance. W.M.U. has again chosen Pure Water, Pure Love as the current on-going mission action project for our church. The goal of Pure Water, Pure Love has been to provide missionaries and the people they serve with clean drinking water, free from disease causing microorganisms, at no cost to them.
The goal has now been expanded to include disaster relief water purification. When the tsunami hit Asia, representatives of Southern Baptist were on the scene quickly with water purification kits. For this reason we felt like we wanted to be a part of this ministry. There will be a display in the hallway and anyone wanting to donate can put their contribution in an envelope labeled Pure Water, Pure Love.
